Direction for use

Surface Preparation

• Surface preparation is the most important step before application to get results and to avoid failure.
• The substrate must be clean and free of dirt, paint, oil, grease, sludge,
  blistered & loose plaster, fungus & moss etc.
• Thorough wire brushing followed by sanding with emery paper is
  recommended.
• Remove the dust by compressed air or paint brush or wiping with water
  soaked cloth.

Mixing
Mix Part I & Part II thoroughly in their individual containers. Pour both the parts in a suitably larger container and mix them thoroughly together to a homogenous smooth paste. Dilute the mixed compound with proportionate quantity of water by slow addition.


Method of application - By brush
1. Waterproofing of cement concrete water storage tanks from inside :
     a) Prepare a groove / joint in the crack wider than 2 mm. Clean the dust by      washing it with water. Allow the groove / joint to dry for 24 hours.
     Apply two coats of Primer RDL 942 by brush. After 30 minutes, mix Accelerator with      Base Compound of Polysulphide Sealant, Techseal RDL 940 thoroughly to a      homogenous grey colour.

Fill the mixed compound by means of a spatula or putty knife in the groove. Tool the sealant by pressing the putty knife firmly against the sealant surface.

Allow the sealant to cure for 24 hours minimum.

     b) Apply one brush coat of mixed Techoxy by brush. Allow it to cure for 6-8 hours.
     c) In case of severe leakage problem due to more cracks on the walls surface,      apply Techoxy OPC cement putty on the entire surface area.


Techoxy - OPC putty
Mix Techoxy (Part 1 & Part II) 1 kg. homogenously, add 2 kgs. of Ordinary Portland Cement- Grey / White, add required quantity of water to get a plaster like paste.

    a) Apply final brush coat of mixed Techoxy

Allow the coating to cure for min. 48 hours before filling water. Before filling drinking water, wash the tank surface with water.

1) Damp proofing of vertical walls from Interior.
    Apply two brush coats of mixed Techoxy at an interval of 6 hours. Allow it to dry for     min. 24 hours before painting.

2 Waterproofing of roof terrace & exterior walls
   As a primer coat before application of Techcoat 61-P, tar-Othane and paint on roof    terrace and external walls. Apply one brush coat of mixed Techoxy as a primer coat.    Allow it to dry for min. 24 hours before applying Techcoat 61-P, Tar-O-Thane & Techsterile.

Coverage
1. Techoxy Primer / Finish coat - 70 - 80 sq.ft. per kg per coat
2. Techoxy O.P. Cement putty 20-25 sq.ft. per 3 kg mix per coat
Coverage figures may vary depending upon porosity and roughness of the surface.

Cleaning of tools & equipment
Tools and equipment can be cleaned with water within 2 hours after the use.

Storage & Shelf Life
Store the materials at cool and dry place (25º cel. Temperature).
Shelf life is one year when material is stored in unopened container.

Packing
0.5, 1, 2 kgs.

Precautions

• All previous coatings to be completely removed before application of Techoxy
• Techoxy when used on exterior surfaces must be over coated by weather durable coatings.
• Avoid application before 10ºC surface temperatures.
• At low temperature, drying and curing period will be prolonged.
• Before mixing both the parts mix them in individual containers.
