Features / Advantages
  • Easily applicable by brush or trowel.
  • Seals localized cracks and surface porosity.
  • Bonds strongly to most of the building materials
  • No primer is required
  • Cures to a tough elastic waterproof film.
  • Excellent resistance to ultra violet and chemical aggression.

Typical Application

  • COAL TAR EPOXY can be used as a protective, waterproofing system for building roofs.
  • COAL TAR EPOXY Can be used as anticorrosive coating for mild steel structures.

Direction for use

Surface Preparation
It is essential that Coal Tar Epoxy is applied to clean dry substrate in order to achieve maximum adhesion between the coating and substrate. All loose particles should be removed by brushing scraping or acid etching.

Mixing
Coal Tar Epoxy is supplied in pre weighed packs which are ready to use on site. DO not add extra solvents or thinner, thorough mixing is essential.

Cleaning
Tools and equipment can be cleaned immediately with solvents like xylene, acetone etc.

Storage And ShelfLife
12 months shelf life if stored below 35° C and 50% R.H.

Packing
1 ltr, 5 ltrs, 20 ltrs.

Precautions

Some people are sensitive to resins, hardners and solvents and its vapours, so it is advisable to use hand gloves and goggles.
In case of eye contamination, wash well with plenty of clean water and seek medical advice.

Features / Advantages

  • Dry Film Contains 80% of Zinc Dust.
  • Provides optimal galvanic protection for steel.
  • Excellent chemical resistant base for high
  • Performance topcoats
  • Protects metal substrate exposed to corrosive environments

Typical Application

  • Corrosive Industrial environments
  • Marine or Offshore structures
  • High humidity or coastal areas
  • Cooling Towers
  • Chemical plants
  • Water or waste treatment plant
  • Fertilizer plants
  • Priming structural steels, pipes, bridges and barges.0

Certification

Formulated without lead, Mercury, or chromates.
Formulated with non photo chemically reactive solvents. Does not contain any ozone-depleting substrates, either Class I or Class II

Direction for use

Bare Steel

All surfaces shall be free of rust, mill scale, and contaminants such as oil, grease, dirt, and salts. Before any surface preparation is attempted, oil and grease must be removed by employing SSPC- SP1 solvent cleaning. For large areas use oil and grease emulsifier.

For Best performance
Use commercial blast cleaning to SSPC- SP6 to remove mill scale, rust and other contaminants and leave a roughened surface.

Use power tool cleaning to bare metal SSPC- SP11 to remove mill scale, rust and other contaminants and leave a roughened surface.

Application Information
Generally, Techguard 101 is best applied by spray. Due to the rapid dry of this coating only small areas may be coated by brush applicator pad or roller must be taken to achieve the specified wet and dry thickness uniform even coats must be obtained.

Application Equipment:

DeVilbis or Equivalent Equipment

Air spray: MBC 510 Gun (stainless steel) “E” tip and fluid needle, 64 or 765 Air Cup, Mastic Spring, Teflon Packing. Maximum of 5 ft. 5/16" (7. 94 MM) I.D. Air and 1/2 " (12.70 MM) I.D. Fluid Hose

Atomization Pressure: 50 PSI

Fluid Pressure: 15 PSI

Airless Spray: Utilize only equipment recommended by manufacturer as being suitable for application of Zinc Rich Products. Continuous agitation of mixed material is required during application.

Equipment must be capable of maintaining 1500 PSI at the Tip.

Hose length in excess of 25 ft. and work at heights greater than 10 ft. above the pump are vto is avoided. These conditions promote zinc setting in the fluid hose with resulting top plugging and non uniform distribution of zinc in the applied film.

Repair of Damaged Spots:
This product is also recommended for filed touch up of shop applied inorganic zinc primer prior to application of high performance topcoats.

Precaution

DANGER! FLAMMABLE! Contains xylene. Keep away from heat, sparks and flame. Avoid breathing vapour. Use with forced air ventilation in confined areas. Avoid contact of resin or hardener with skin or eyes. In case of eye contact, flush immediately with plenty of water and consult a physician. Do not take internally.

  • Not to be applied when air and surface temperatures are bellow 50°F
  • Must be top coated with appropriate coating when used in corrosive
    environments
  • Caution when opening containers- gassing may occur
  • Not for immersion or for exposure to acids & alkalies without proper topcoats.

Packing:
4 ltr, and 20-ltr containers.
