MASTERPLAST PLD is a single component liquid super plasticising admixture for cement concrete and mortar. It controls and extends the setting time of cement in concrete and mortar. It enables water requirement to be reduced for a given workability. It extends the setting time in proportion to the amount of admixture used. It is more used in situations where workability retention is needed.

Features / Advantages

  • It controls the rate of setting of concrete and mortars.
  • It improves workability and makes handling easier.
  • It retains the workability for few hours
  • It reduces segregation
  • It can be used even for micro silica, fly ash and slag cement concrete
  • It improves finished appearance of the hardened concrete.
  • It reduces shrinkage and permeability of hardened concrete.
  • It increases strength of the concrete and mortar.
  • It reduces cracking.
  • It eliminates formation of cold joints between subsequent pours in mass or structural concrete.
  • It is based on Sulphonated Naphthalene formaldehyde polymers.

Usage

  • Masterplast PLD is particularly recommended for concreting in hot climates, long or difficult pours, prestressed concrete in large sections or mass concreting.
  • It is used in concrete of all classes.
  • It is used more specifically in : Pavement concrete, Structural concrete, Ready mixed concrete, Bridge decks, Highway concrete, Light weight concrete and Expansive concrete.

Direction for use

Dosage
To get the required retardation of concrete mixes depends upon the ambient temperature and other factors. Hence trial mixes should therefore be performed. The normal dose is 0.1 to 0.75 Litre. per 50 Kg of cement. However, a dosage upto 1 Litre. per 50 Kg of cement can be used when micro silica, fly ash, slag cement etc., are present in the mix. Masterplast PLD should be added to the wet mix or mixing (gauging) water. It should not be added to dry cement. For addition of Masterplast PLD, a dispenser or exact measuring container is recommended. Stir well before use.

Cleaning of tools & Equipment
Tools and equipments can be cleaned with water.

Storage and shelf life
Store the material at a cool & dry place (preferably at 30 C Temp. or at room temperature).
Shelf life is two years.
It will freeze at (thawing) temperatures but can be reconstitured by stirring.

Packing

5 Litre, 20 Litre, 200 Litre, or as per requirements (For bulk quantities)

Precautions

  • Do not mix it with dry cement.
  • Add to mixing (gauging ) water or directly to the wet mix.
  • Stir well before use.
